Madhya Pradesh CM offers prayers at Dhar’s historic Bhojshala complex after High Court ruling.
May 25, 2026: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav visited the historic Bhojshala complex in Dhar and offered prayers to Maa Vagdevi following the recent High Court verdict in the long-standing Bhojshala dispute case. The court had recognised the site as a temple after examining historical and archaeological evidence presented during the proceedings. The ruling also granted Hindu devotees the right to worship at the premises.
During his visit, the Chief Minister performed traditional rituals and sought blessings at the shrine associated with Maa Saraswati, also known as Vagdevi. Visuals from the temple complex showed Mohan Yadav taking part in religious ceremonies amid heavy security arrangements. Bhojshala is regarded as one of the rare ancient temples linked to Maa Saraswati and holds deep spiritual importance for devotees across the region.
The visit is being viewed as both politically and religiously significant, as the Bhojshala issue has remained sensitive for many years due to competing claims over the site’s religious usage. Following the court verdict, celebrations were reported among several Hindu organisations and local devotees. Authorities maintained heightened security in and around the complex to ensure peace and law and order after the sensitive ruling.
