Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, alongside AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal, addressed a press conference on Tuesday, alleging BJP-backed disruptions and partiality from the Election Commission and Delhi Police. Atishi, contesting from Kalkaji, accused the BJP of hooliganism while criticizing the Election Commission for filing cases against AAP members instead of taking action against the alleged offenders.

“The BJP is openly engaging in disruptive activities. Delhi Police is shielding them, and the Election Commission is targeting those who raise complaints,” Atishi declared. She specifically accused BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri and his family of causing disturbances in Kalkaji without facing consequences.

Atishi also highlighted AAP’s governance achievements, contrasting them with the BJP’s alleged focus on obstruction. “While BJP resorts to violence, AAP helps households save Rs 25,000 monthly through welfare schemes,” she stated.

This comes on the heels of an FIR filed against Atishi for allegedly breaching the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) by blocking Fateh Singh Marg with supporters. Delhi Police reported that AAP workers obstructed officers, with one reportedly striking a head constable. Atishi responded on social media, accusing the Election Commission of bias.

Meanwhile, an FIR was also lodged against Arvind Kejriwal in Haryana’s Kurukshetra following his comments accusing the Haryana government of “mixing poison” in the Yamuna River. The case, filed at Shahabad Police Station, alleges defamation and other offenses against Kejriwal and unidentified AAP members.

Adding to the drama, Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeted Kejriwal during a campaign rally, criticizing the AAP leader over alleged opulent renovations of his official bungalow. Modi emphasized his government’s focus on public welfare while taking a dig at AAP’s leadership.

Delhi votes on February 5, with results to be declared on February 8. As political tensions escalate, all eyes are on the capital to witness the outcome of this heated electoral battle.
