
Delhi Sees Light Rainfall, Marginal AQI Improvement as Fog Lingers
February 4, 2025: Delhi witnessed light rainfall early on Tuesday, with intermittent drizzles expected throughout the day, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The showers are due to a fresh western disturbance impacting the region. However, the rainfall is likely to disappear by Wednesday, February 5, with dense fog expected to intensify in isolated parts of the national capital.

The IMD reported a minimum temperature of 12 degrees Celsius in Delhi, which is above the average for February. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 21 degrees Celsius. Delhi also recorded a high humidity level of 96%, contributing to the weather’s dampness.

The IMD predicts a short-term rise in minimum temperatures across northwest India for the next two days, followed by a gradual drop of 2-3 degrees over the subsequent three days. Weather fluctuations are expected to resume as another active western disturbance affects northern India starting February 8.

The rainfall has led to a slight improvement in Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI), although it remains in the poor category. As per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data recorded at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, AQI levels stood at:
