The DMK has announced it will not participate in the INDIA alliance meeting on June 8
June 4, 2026: The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) on Thursday said it will not attend the INDIA alliance meeting scheduled to be held in New Delhi on June 8. The party cited strong feelings among its cadre, who believe the Congress party betrayed the DMK following the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections.
In an official statement, the DMK said it was respecting the sentiments of its workers by staying away from a meeting in which Congress would be participating. The party stressed that the decision was linked to dissatisfaction within its ranks and ongoing concerns regarding its relationship with the Congress leadership.
Despite skipping the meeting, the DMK clarified that it remains committed to raising issues related to national welfare and public interest. The party said it would continue supporting causes that benefit the country while maintaining its independent stand on matters affecting its political interests.
