Top ministers and officials are reviewing stricter security arrangements for NEET amid concerns over paper leaks and examination transparency.
May 28, 2026: A high-level meeting is currently taking place at the residence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to discuss security arrangements for the upcoming NEET examination. According to sources, the meeting is being attended by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, senior officials from the National Testing Agency, representatives of Central Board of Secondary Education, and other top government functionaries. The discussions are focused on strengthening examination security following previous controversies related to alleged paper leaks.
Sources said the government is reviewing multiple measures aimed at making the examination process more secure, transparent, and tamper-proof for millions of students appearing in NEET. Officials are reportedly examining ways to improve coordination between educational authorities and security agencies to prevent any breach during the examination process. Restoring public confidence and ensuring smooth conduct of the examination remain the key priorities of the ongoing discussions.
Inputs also suggest that the possibility of involving additional security forces is being considered, with reports indicating that the Army could play a role in handling certain aspects of question paper security and logistics. However, no official confirmation has been issued regarding the extent of such involvement. The meeting is still underway, and government sources indicate that a final security framework for NEET may be announced after consultations are completed.
