Flyers panic as aircraft circles for hours due to bad weather before safe landing in Bengaluru
April 20, 2026: A tense mid-air situation unfolded when a Fly91 flight from Hyderabad to Hubballi remained airborne for nearly four hours, far exceeding its usual 90-minute journey. The aircraft was forced to circle in the sky due to unfavourable weather conditions before being diverted to Bengaluru, where it landed safely at Kempegowda International Airport. Officials confirmed that all 22 passengers onboard were safe.
Videos from inside the flight showed panic among passengers, with many seen praying and crying as the ordeal stretched on. In the clips circulating on social media, anxious voices repeatedly called out in fear while some passengers questioned the situation mid-flight. Another video showed a woman in tears, joining her hands in prayer, reflecting the distress felt onboard during the prolonged uncertainty.
The airline clarified that there was no technical issue with the aircraft and attributed the delay entirely to adverse weather. Officials stated that circling mid-air while waiting for weather conditions to improve is a standard safety protocol, and the pilot chose to divert when landing was not possible. The flight eventually landed safely around 6:30 pm and later resumed its journey once conditions stabilised.
