May 4, 2026: With Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) set to emerge as the single-largest party and stake claim to form the government, all eyes are on key constituencies like Karur. The seat, which drew nationwide attention last year, is witnessing a tight electoral battle. M. R. Vijayabhaskar of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam is leading with 46,064 votes, followed by AASEE.M Thiagarajan of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam with 40,784 votes, while Mathiyalagan VP trails closely with 39,586 votes.
Statewide trends indicate a strong performance by TVK, the party associated with actor-turned-politician Vijay, leading in 106 seats.
