BSP supremo asks party workers to strengthen the organisation, avoid political provocation

July 10, 2026: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has stepped up preparations for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, urging party workers to begin grassroots mobilisation across the state. Addressing a press conference in Lucknow, she called on the cadre to focus on strengthening the organisation while remaining committed to constitutional values. Referring to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s vision, Mayawati said the fight for justice should always be pursued through democratic and legal means rather than confrontation or violence.

Commenting on recent incidents of unrest in parts of Uttar Pradesh, including Meerut, Mayawati criticised violent protests and road blockades, calling them counterproductive. She alleged that certain political parties were attempting to mislead members of the Dalit community for electoral gains, creating unnecessary tensions. The BSP leader urged people not to fall into political traps that could weaken their larger social and constitutional struggle.

Recalling the ideology of BSP founder Kanshi Ram, Mayawati emphasised disciplined political participation and social empowerment. She asked party workers to remain united, expand their outreach, and systematically prepare for the 2027 elections instead of being distracted by political provocations. Political observers believe her remarks are aimed at rebuilding the BSP’s traditional support base while projecting the party as one committed to peaceful democratic participation and long-term organisational growth.
