Two juveniles have been detained after stones were allegedly thrown at the Lucknow-New Delhi Swarna Shatabdi Express

June 12, 2026: Police on Friday detained two juveniles for allegedly pelting stones at the Lucknow-New Delhi Swarna Shatabdi Express near Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred on Thursday evening when RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was travelling in the train. Authorities said Bhagwat was unharmed, though a window pane of the E1 coach was damaged after being struck by a stone.

According to Firozabad Senior Superintendent of Police Aditya Langhe, the incident took place around 7:20 pm near Pemeshwar Gate. Following the incident, railway and police authorities launched an extensive investigation. Under the supervision of Agra Zone Additional Director General of Police S K Bhagat, seven teams were formed to identify those responsible.

Investigators reviewed footage from more than 50 CCTV cameras and identified three juveniles allegedly throwing stones at the passing train while collecting garbage near the railway tracks. Police said the stone hit the coach window, shattering the glass. Two juveniles were detained on Friday morning, while efforts are continuing to trace and apprehend the third accused.
