An update from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) highlights rising temperatures across major cities in North India, including Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu & Kashmir. While hot conditions currently dominate the region, relief is on the horizon with rainfall predicted to hit several areas starting Monday.

Regional Weather Breakdown & Temperatures

The regional capital, Chandigarh, recorded a maximum temperature of 37°C. Local weather forecasts indicate a rising temperature trend, though rain is highly likely to bring respite starting Monday. Meanwhile, New Delhi maintained a high of 34°C with a warm minimum of 28°C.

Several cities across Punjab and Haryana, including Bathinda, Ludhiana, Hisar, and Sirsa, are bearing the brunt of the heat, with temperatures peaking at 38°C. In contrast, hill stations across Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand offer a cooler escape, with Shimla hovering at a pleasant 25°C and Mussoorie resting at 22°C.
