Police have raised questions over the licences of firearms used by Khan Sir’s bodyguards during the firing incident linked to his Patna coaching institute
June 28, 2026: The investigation into the firing incident linked to Khan Global Studies in Patna has taken a new turn, with police reportedly questioning the legality of the firearms used by Khan Sir’s two bodyguards. According to sources, investigators have recorded important findings in the case diary, claiming that the weapon carried by bodyguard Talebar Singh did not have a valid permit for use in Bihar. Authorities have also raised objections regarding the firearm carried by another bodyguard, Pradeep Kumar, as part of the ongoing probe.
Meanwhile, the Patna Civil Court has extended the interim bail granted to Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, until June 30. During Saturday’s hearing, the investigating officer submitted an updated case diary before the court, following which the matter was adjourned until Tuesday for further arguments. The court also continued its earlier order restraining any coercive action against Khan Sir until the next hearing.
Khan Sir’s lawyer, Arvind Kumar Mauar, said his client is fully cooperating with the investigation and that a separate hearing involving the security personnel has also been scheduled for June 30. The case stems from an incident earlier this month when unidentified miscreants allegedly vandalised Khan Sir’s coaching institute, prompting his security staff to open fire. An FIR was subsequently registered, naming Khan Sir along with others, and the investigation remains ongoing.
