Union Minister Piyush Goyal said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent five-nation visit helped strengthen India’s global standing
May 21, 2026: Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Wednesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recently concluded five-nation visit has strengthened India’s position on the global stage and helped secure major investment commitments for the country. Addressing the media at the BJP headquarters, Goyal stated that the diplomatic outreach produced 57 key outcomes that would contribute to India’s economic empowerment and self-reliance.
Highlighting India’s growing global appeal, Goyal said the country has become a preferred investment destination due to a well-planned strategy and strong international partnerships. Referring to agreements signed with European nations, he said the investments expected from these partnerships would support India’s long-term growth and development goals.
Speaking on the upcoming visit of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Goyal described India-US ties as strong and strategic. He said the two countries are collaborating on critical areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, machine learning and critical minerals. The minister added that the first phase of a bilateral trade agreement with the United States had been finalised, which would provide India preferential access to the American market. He also claimed that investments worth nearly ₹6 lakh crore had been announced for India by the US and said the world increasingly sees India as a trusted global partner.
