AIDSA suspends Madhya Pradesh dentist Muskan Soni for five years after her viral comments on the Ketan Agarwal murder case sparked widespread backlash.
July 1, 2026: Madhya Pradesh-based dentist Muskan Soni has been suspended from the All India Dental Students and Surgeons Association (AIDSA) for five years after a viral video showed her making controversial remarks about Pune businessman Ketan Agarwal, who was allegedly murdered by his fiancée. The association said the suspension was imposed for violating its constitution, code of conduct and ethical standards. Soni had been serving as the treasurer of AIDSA’s Madhya Pradesh unit since last year.
According to the suspension order signed by AIDSA Working President Divakar Moodautiya, Soni made “highly inappropriate, offensive and disrespectful” comments about the deceased. During the suspension period, she will not be allowed to represent the organisation or participate in its meetings, committees, conferences, events or any official activities. The action came after a video circulated online in which Soni mocked the victim, triggering widespread criticism across social media platforms.
Following the backlash, Soni released a public apology, stating that she never intended to make light of such a sensitive issue. She expressed regret for her remarks and said she does not demean people based on gender. Addressing her use of the hashtag #IHateMen, Soni said it reflected her personal experiences and added that she was willing to stop using it. She also alleged that she had faced online abuse after the controversy and appealed to social media users to end the harassment.
