July 23, 2026: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, accompanied by Members of Parliament and leaders of the INDIA alliance, visited Gandhi Smriti on Wednesday to express solidarity with students affected by the alleged NEET paper leak controversy. Gandhi was seen boarding a bus with Opposition MPs before leaving for Tees January Marg, where Gandhi Smriti is located. In a post on social media, he said the delegation was peacefully travelling to the memorial to stand with students.

Explaining the purpose of the visit, Gandhi said the Opposition wanted to pay tribute to students who allegedly died by suicide following the NEET controversy and support those who were injured during recent protests. He stated that the delegation was also standing with students who had peacefully demanded justice and accountability but were allegedly subjected to police action.

Before the march, Gandhi said Opposition MPs had initially planned to visit India Gate, but after being stopped, they decided to head to Gandhi Smriti instead. Reaffirming his support for the ongoing student movement, he said the entire Opposition stood firmly with the students and their demands, adding that they were not alone in their fight for justice.
