Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust launches its first CEO recruitment drive to strengthen temple administration
July 13, 2026: The Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust on Monday invited applications for the post of its first Chief Executive Officer (CEO), marking a major step towards professionalising the administration of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir complex. The recruitment comes in the wake of recent allegations of donation embezzlement that brought the temple’s management under scrutiny. Applications will remain open until July 18. Candidates aged between 50 and 70 years, with a graduation degree and at least 20 years of managerial experience in a government department, public institution or large organisation, are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience as a chief administrative officer at a temple.
The selected CEO will be appointed on a three-year contract and will oversee the overall administration, day-to-day operations and management of the Ram Mandir complex. The official will function under the guidance of the trust and report directly to its general secretary. The move follows the resignations of former general secretary Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra, with trustee Krishna Mohan currently serving as interim general secretary. A three-member committee comprising retired judge Pramod Kohli, retired Lieutenant General Vishnukant Chaturvedi and former NIT Raipur chairperson Suresh Haware will shortlist candidates before the trust makes the final appointment.
The CEO will be responsible for temple administration, financial management, donation transparency, staff supervision, crowd management, security coordination and construction oversight, including ongoing projects such as the memorial, boundary wall, auditorium and Ram Katha Museum. The official will also be expected to improve devotee services and strengthen public outreach while ensuring the temple functions as a world-class pilgrimage destination with high standards of transparency and accountability.
