A group of Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs is reportedly preparing to approach the Lok Sabha Speaker

June 17, 2026: A fresh political storm appears to be brewing within the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) as reports suggest that Lok Sabha MP Omraje Nimbalkar has arrived in New Delhi amid growing speculation of a major rebellion. Political sources indicate that Nimbalkar has joined a group of MPs who are planning to stake claim as a separate parliamentary bloc in the Lok Sabha.

The names being linked to the development include Sanjay Dina Patil, Sanjay Deshmukh, Nagesh Patil Ashtikar, Omraje Nimbalkar, Bhausaheb Wakchaure and Sanjay Jadhav. According to reports, the six MPs are expected to meet the Lok Sabha Speaker and seek recognition as an independent group within Parliament. The move could trigger significant changes in Maharashtra’s political landscape if it proceeds formally.

Sources further suggest that after completing the parliamentary process, the rebel group may consider merging with the Shiv Sena faction led by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Meanwhile, MP Rajabhau Waje has reportedly decided to remain loyal to Uddhav Thackeray and is not expected to join the rebel camp. Political observers are closely monitoring developments, as any formal split could have major implications for both state and national politics.
