“If you do scams, then be prepared…”: BJP leader Agnimitra Paul on Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest

Medinipur (West Bengal) [India]: As the Delhi court extends Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s custody by the Enforcement Directorate until April 1 in the excise policy case, echoing the BJP’s position against Kejriwal, West Bengal BJP leader Agnimitra Paul asserted that he’s been involved in corrupt activities and must face the repercussions.

BJP leader Agnimitra Paul said, “If one will do scams, how can they can think that they will not get punished, or ED CBI will not arrest them. This is PM Modi’s regime, if you will do scams then be prepared, you will soon receive the arrest warrant.”

BJP leader and senior advocate Nalin Kohli also raised questions on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, holding the position, inspite of slew of allegations against him.

“Every citizen has a right to approach the court of law, raise a grievance. That is what Arvind Kejriwal has done with his petition through his legal advisors. But equally, the ED has the right to respond to it. This is a court process, the court will decide about what has to happen. The large political issue is why did Arvind Kejriwal consistently choose to stay from summons on 8 occasions. The larger question is that there is a serious allegation of a corruption scandal or a scam on Delhi government of which Arvind Kejriwal is the CM,” Nalin Kohli said.

Meanwhile, the Bhartiya Janata Party workers, on Thursday had staged a counter-protest against the AAP, demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Led by Delhi BJP Chief Virendraa Sachdeva, the march proceeded from Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium to Delhi Secretariat. The protesters were seen holding placards and raising slogans against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

“They want to divert the attention from the alcohol scam. They keep saying that they are getting orders (from jail)… Arvind Kejriwal is doing drama from the ED custody. I have given a written complaint to the LG and ED director that action should be taken on the false letter that they had produced… The way gangsters and extortionists operate gangs from jail, they want to operate the CM office. A corrupt person like Arvind Kejriwal cannot be the CM. He has to resign,” said BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa.

Meanwhile, the Rouse Avenue Court on Thursday extended the custodial remand of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by four more days in a money laundering case related to Excise Policy.
