The newly formed Tamil Nadu Cabinet led by C. Joseph Vijay has announced portfolio allocations
May 16, 2026: The Tamil Nadu Lok Bhavan on Saturday released the portfolio distribution for the newly constituted Cabinet headed by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, days after his party secured a sweeping victory in the 2026 Assembly elections. Vijay retained several major portfolios including Public, General Administration, Police, Home, Municipal Administration, Urban and Water Supply, along with departments related to women, youth, children, senior citizens and differently-abled welfare.
Minister N. Anand was assigned Rural Development and Water Resources, while Aadhav Arjuna received Public Works and Sports Development. K. G. Arunraj was allocated Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare. Senior leader K. A. Sengottaiyan was entrusted with the Finance portfolio, including pensions and allowances.
Other key allocations included P. Venkataramanan handling Food and Civil Supplies, R. Nirmalkumar overseeing Energy Resources and Law, and Rajmohan taking charge of School Education, Tamil Development and Information. T. K. Prabhu was assigned Natural Resources, while Selvi S. Keerthana received Industries and Investment Promotion.
