Tata Consultancy Services BPO unit in Nashik under probe as SIT investigates allegations and digital links

April 15, 2026: An investigation by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) into a BPO facility of Tata Consultancy Services in Nashik has revealed an alleged conversion racket with possible international links. The probe, initiated after complaints by eight women employees, suggests that the accused targeted colleagues facing financial or personal difficulties. Authorities are now closely examining WhatsApp groups and call records as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police say digital evidence is crucial, with a WhatsApp group allegedly used to identify “targets” and coordinate actions. Investigators are also trying to retrieve deleted chats and are probing a possible foreign link involving a man believed to be based in Malaysia, who allegedly interacted through video calls. Seven employees, including an HR manager, have been arrested following a covert police operation, while officials are also analysing a key phone call made shortly before the arrests.

The case involves multiple serious allegations, including sexual harassment, rape on the pretext of marriage, religious manipulation, and ignoring workplace complaints. Some victims have accused the HR department of inaction despite repeated complaints. In response, Tata Consultancy Services said it follows a strict zero-tolerance policy towards harassment and has suspended the employees under investigation, assuring full cooperation with authorities.
