Telangana Real Estate Regulatory Authority chairman N Satyanarayana resigned citing health complications caused by prolonged hearings and administrative workload.
May 20, 2026: N Satyanarayana has resigned as chairman of the Telangana Real Estate Regulatory Authority, citing medical issues linked to long working hours and continuous hearings. The retired IAS officer said daily hearings lasting several hours caused severe back pain and other health complications, forcing him to undergo physiotherapy and treatment in recent weeks.
Satyanarayana described the TG-RERA role as one of the most challenging and fulfilling assignments of his four-decade public service career. During his three-year tenure, the authority implemented several reforms aimed at improving transparency, accountability, digital governance and grievance redressal in Telangana’s real-estate sector.
According to Satyanarayana, TG-RERA registered over 10,800 projects and more than 5,100 real-estate agents during his tenure, while also speeding up project approvals and resolving a large number of pending complaints. The Telangana government accepted his resignation on health grounds through an official memo issued by the Metropolitan Area and Urban Development Department.
