TMC MP Kirti Azad alleges BJP leader Nishikant Dubey is influencing the party’s ongoing rebellion

June 12, 2026: Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Kirti Azad has alleged that BJP leader Nishikant Dubey is playing a role in the ongoing political turmoil within the party. According to Azad, the rebellion by several TMC leaders is being coordinated from Dubey’s residence. He also claimed to have a trusted source who regularly provides updates on developments related to the controversy.

Despite Azad’s allegations, political observers believe the crisis stems largely from internal divisions within the TMC. Dissatisfaction over the leadership style and growing influence of Abhishek Banerjee has reportedly been building for some time, with several senior leaders openly expressing concerns about the party’s functioning and decision-making process.

The rift became more visible after senior TMC leader Kalyan Banerjee declared that “either Abhishek Banerjee or I will remain,” highlighting the widening factional divide. While the turmoil could indirectly benefit the BJP, particularly ahead of key parliamentary discussions on issues such as delimitation and the Women’s Reservation Bill, analysts maintain that the primary cause of the crisis remains the internal power struggle within the Trinamool Congress.
