June 14, 2025: An iron bridge spanning the Indrayani River in Kundmala, a rural pocket in Pune’s Maval taluka, collapsed on Sunday amid heavy rainfall, raising fears that 25 to 30 tourists may have been swept away.
According to police from Talegaon Dabhade station, three people have been rescued so far, while one person is confirmed missing. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), local police, and villagers are actively conducting rescue efforts at the scene.

The Maval region has been hit by persistent rains over the past two days, causing the Indrayani River’s water level to surge — a likely factor in the collapse. Search and rescue operations are ongoing as officials race against time to locate potential survivors.
