“PM’s Silence Is Regrettable..”: Danish Ali On Ramesh Bidhuri’s Remarks In Lok Sabha

New Delhi [India]: Reacting to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Ramesh Bidhuri’s remarks in the Lok Sabha, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP Danish Ali on Friday said that the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the incident is “regrettable”.

“It has been eight days but still, there is no sign of action. I have written a letter to the Prime Minister of the house, to which I belong. In my letter to the PM, I asked him to condemn the incident that took place in the ‘Temple of Democracy’. But his silence is regrettable”, Danish Ali said while speaking to media.

“On the success of the G20 summit, the whole country was with you. But what message will you give to the world after all the ‘lynching’ taking place in Bapu’s (Mahatma Gandhi) country? Nothing can be more disrespectful than this incident to the decorum of the parliament”, Ali added.

Demanding action against the BJP MP, Ali said, “I want the man with such condemnable behaviour to be expelled from the house. The case also should be referred for legal action”.

Ramesh Bidhuri’s objectionable remarks against Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP Danish Ali in the lower house have triggered anger among the Opposition parties who are calling for strict action against Bidhuri.

On the other hand, Danish Ali also gave an ultimatum of leaving the Parliament if the Speaker did not conduct an enquiry into the matter.
The BJP also issued a show cause notice to party MP Ramesh Bidhuri on the instruction of party president JP Nadda for his use of “unparliamentary language” against BSP MP Danish Ali.

Earlier last week, leaders of Congress, NCP, TMC and DMK wrote to Om Birla to act against the BJP leader and demanded that the matter should be sent to the Parliamentary Privileges Committee.

Meanwhile, amid the controversy surrounding Danish Ali and Ramesh Bidhuri, BJP leader Nishikant Dubey on Saturday said that his fellow party lawmaker got “provoked” as the Amroha MP kept calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi “neech” (despicable).

“The words used by him (Bidhuri) are not acceptable. I was present in the Parliament when all this took place. BSP MP Danish Ali kept calling PM Modi ‘neech’…If you would provoke someone by using derogatory remarks against the Prime Minister then definitely such reaction will come,” Dubey told media.

Meanwhile, BJP MP Dubey has written a letter to Om Birla urging him to constitute an inquiry committee that should look into “the extent of culpability” of MPs who “instigate other citizens” with their comments in the House.

“I have written a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla requesting him to constitute an Inquiry Committee to investigate Danish Ali’s remark and the utterances made by various members during the discussion that day including the speeches of Saugata Roy, who questioned the existence of Lord Ram, and others…We need to understand that people like Danish Ali and some leaders of Congress, DMK, and TMC are habitual offenders and they make derogatory comments to provoke BJP MPs,” he said.

Reacting to Dubey’s remarks, Danish Ali said that it was a ‘baseless’ allegation.
