CSK piled up a mammoth 230/5 after MS Dhoni won the toss and chose to bat first. Dewald Brevis stole the show with a blistering 23-ball 53, while Devon Conway anchored the innings with a 52 off 35 balls. Quickfire cameos by Ayush Mhatre (34 off 17) and Urvil Patel (37 off 19) ensured CSK’s innings finished with a flourish.

GT’s chase never took off as wickets kept tumbling under scoreboard pressure. Despite Arshad Khan’s entertaining 20 off 14 balls, GT folded for 147 in 18.3 overs. Noor Ahmad starred with the ball, claiming 3/13, while Pathirana and Kamboj chipped in with crucial strikes.
The result was a historic low for CSK, who finished bottom of the points table for the first time in IPL history. GT, meanwhile, missed a golden chance to seal a top-two finish and will now rely on other results to determine their playoff fate.
