November 30, 2024: The rain disruption on Day 1 has led to an adjustment in the schedule for the two-day warm-up match between India and the Prime Minister’s XI. The match, originally intended to be a day-night fixture, will now be a 50-over per side game, and will begin on Sunday at 9:10 am IST, with the coin toss scheduled for 8:40 am IST.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the changes on X (formerly Twitter), writing: “Update: PM’s XI v India – Manuka Oval. Play has been abandoned for Day 1 and will resume tomorrow (Sunday) at 9:10 am IST. Coin toss will be at 8:40 am IST. Teams have agreed to play 50 overs per side.”
This adjustment follows the cancellation of Day 1’s play in Canberra due to persistent rain, which has affected the originally planned two-day practice match. The two teams will now have one final opportunity to fine-tune their preparations in a 50-over format ahead of the much-anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy series.
