Chahal made headlines in November 2024, when he was acquired by Punjab Kings for ₹18 crore, making him the most expensive spinner in IPL auction history. The IPL 2025 auction was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and saw Punjab Kings go all out for the seasoned leg-spinner.
Divorce Controversy: What’s the Latest?
While rumors about Chahal and Dhanashree’s separation had been circulating for months, official confirmation of their divorce filing surfaced last week. Reports claim that the couple attended their final hearing at Bandra Family Court, but Dhanashree’s lawyer denied that proceedings had concluded, stating:
“I have no comments to make on the proceedings, as the matter is sub judice. The media should fact-check before reporting, as a lot of misleading information is being circulated.”
Alimony Controversy: Family Issues Statement
There were unverified reports suggesting Dhanashree had demanded ₹60 crore as alimony, but her family strongly refuted these claims, calling them “baseless rumors.”
“We are deeply outraged by the baseless claims about the alimony figure. No such amount has ever been asked, demanded, or even offered. It is deeply irresponsible to spread such misinformation, dragging families into unnecessary speculation,” read a statement from her family.
Chahal’s Current Cricket Career
