Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay strongly defended his government and the ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) while replying to the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address in the Assembly. Rejecting claims that TVK remains an “actor’s party,” Vijay said the party had earned its place through struggle and public support.
The internal crisis within the Trinamool Congress intensified on Monday after the rebel faction led by Ritabrata formally claimed control of the party and announced the suspension of TMC National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee.
