The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued a yellow nowcast warning for Mumbai, Thane and Raigad, predicting light to moderate rainfall at isolated locations over the next few hours as monsoon activity remains active across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
BMC data shows Mumbai's seven key reservoirs hold only 130,275 million litres of water, while weather forecasts offer hope of stronger rainfall and rising lake levels from June 22 onwards.
