Emerging fashion designer Vaishnavi Bala took to Instagram to share the story behind the custom-made outfit, describing the opportunity as a dream come true. According to Bala, she had envisioned working on a FIFA project since 2022, making the assignment especially meaningful.
The designer explained that the outfit wasn’t created entirely from scratch. Instead, it involved the challenging process of deconstructing and reconstructing existing garments, a technique that required extensive craftsmanship and attention to detail.
One of the most eye-catching elements of the outfit was a statement skirt, which Bala completed on her own in just two days. She also revealed that a specially placed zipper transformed an Adidas jacket into a unique stage-ready fashion piece.
What makes the outfit even more remarkable is the fact that it was assembled using everyday wardrobe items. The final look was created by repurposing five T-shirts, one jacket and a pair of pants, turning them into a bold and dynamic performance costume that perfectly matched the energy of the FIFA anthem.
Meanwhile, Nora Fatehi described performing at the FIFA World Cup as a “magical moment” and expressed gratitude to the three countries that shaped her journey. Raised in Canada, rooted in Morocco and celebrated in India, the singer credited all three nations for helping her become the artist she is today.
