Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian links US-Iran ceasefire to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s sacrifice and public support

April 8, 2026: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Wednesday described the recent ceasefire between the United States and Iran as a direct result of the sacrifice of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In a post on X, Pezeshkian said the agreement reflected the principles upheld by Iran and was achieved through both leadership and public support.

He stated that the ceasefire was “the fruit of the blood” of Khamenei, referring to the leader as a martyr, and credited the collective presence of the Iranian people during the crisis. According to him, the outcome demonstrated national unity and resilience amid escalating tensions.

Pezeshkian also emphasised that the country would continue to stand united across all fronts, including diplomacy, defence, and public service. He underlined that Iran’s approach moving forward would remain consistent, combining strategic engagement with preparedness, while maintaining internal solidarity.
