July 03, 2025: After a valiant fight in the first Test, where they stretched Australia before falling short by 159 runs in Barbados, West Indies will aim to level the series as they face Pat Cummins’ side in the second Test starting Thursday, July 3, at the National Cricket Stadium in Grenada.

Australia receive a significant boost with the return of Steve Smith, who has recovered from a broken finger suffered during last month’s WTC final loss to South Africa. Smith is set to slot back into the playing XI, replacing backup wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis. Wicketkeeper Alex Carey highlighted Smith’s impact, saying, “Anytime you add 10,000 runs back into the line-up, you’re going to be pretty happy.”
The Aussies plan to stick to their winning combination except for Smith’s inclusion. Meanwhile, West Indies are contemplating bringing in pacer Anderson Phillip in place of left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican to bolster their pace attack on what is expected to be a lively Grenada pitch.
