Donald Trump health draws attention as Steven Cheung defends his work schedule
April 5, 2026: The White House has issued a statement addressing concerns over the health of Donald Trump, with Communications Director Steven Cheung stating that the President was “working nonstop” throughout the Easter weekend. The remark comes amid growing speculation about Trump’s condition and reports linked to his care at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Cheung emphasised that Trump remains fully engaged in his duties, highlighting his work from the White House and the Oval Office.
Questions around Trump’s health have persisted during his second term, particularly following reports of physical strain and past medical evaluations. The President had earlier revealed undergoing an MRI scan, describing the results as “perfect” and among the best for his age. His physician, Sean Barbabella, said the scan was part of routine health monitoring, including imaging and preventive assessments, and maintained that Trump continues to be in “excellent overall health.”
However, concerns have resurfaced following disclosures that Trump was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency in 2025, a condition linked to swelling in the legs. While officials continue to reassure the public about his fitness, the renewed focus on his medical history and recent reports has kept the President’s health under close scrutiny.
