Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has temporarily asked employees based at its central Delhi campus to work from its Noida or Gurugram offices instead, after ongoing student protests disrupted normal access to the facility, according to a Moneycontrol report.
According to an internal advisory reviewed by Moneycontrol, the arrangement applies only to July 23 and July 24, and is limited to staff working out of TCS’s PTI Building campus in Delhi.
Alternative Arrangements for Affected Staff
Employees have been directed to shift to the Noida or Gurugram offices for the two-day period. Those unable to reach either location have been told to file a work-from-office exception under the company’s “Calamity Exigency” category.
The move comes as student protests — including demonstrations at Jantar Mantar — have disrupted movement in and around central Delhi, affecting access to the office.
Protests Linked to NEET Paper Leak Allegations
Per the Moneycontrol report, the protests are being led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) over alleged irregularities tied to the NEET paper leak. The scale of the demonstrations prompted TCS to activate contingency measures for its Delhi-based staff.
The report clarified that the advisory is a short-term operational step confined to the Delhi campus, and does not reflect any broader shift in the company’s office attendance policy. TCS operates delivery centres across the National Capital Region — including in Noida, Gurugram, and Delhi — giving it flexibility to redirect employees to alternate locations when needed. Moneycontrol noted it has reached out to TCS for an official comment and will update its report accordingly.
Backdrop: TCS Has Been Tightening Attendance Rules
The temporary relocation comes at a time when TCS has otherwise been reinforcing stricter office attendance requirements. The company recently linked employee bonus payouts to compliance with its return-to-office mandate, which currently requires five days a week in office, with exceptions granted only in specific circumstances.
