Four years after the release of his historical drama Samrat Prithviraj, actor Akshay Kumar has finally addressed the widespread criticism regarding his appearance in the film—specifically the use of a fake moustache.

During a recent podcast appearance, the actor, who is currently celebrating the box office success of his latest release Bhooth Bangla, candidly opened up about the challenges he faced while portraying the legendary warrior.

Explaining the Practical Challenges

Akshay Kumar clarified that the choice to use a fake moustache was a necessity dictated by the specific requirements of the character and his own physical limitations. He explained that the story demanded a particular style of moustache that he could not grow naturally.

Addressing the audience’s disappointment, he stated, “In Samrat Prithviraj, the story required a particular kind of moustache, and that kind of moustache cannot grow naturally on my face. So yes, maybe the fake moustache didn’t look good, maybe a lot of people didn’t like it. But at the end of the day, it’s acting.”
