The magic of the iconic Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan collaboration continues to cast a spell on the box office. On its eighth day, the horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla successfully crossed the ₹140 crore milestone at the global box office.

Despite facing a wave of mixed reviews from critics, the film has managed to sustain a steady momentum through its first week, proving that the nostalgia of the Hera Pheri and Bhool Bhulaiyaa duo remains a massive draw for family audiences in April 2026.

Steady Friday: India Net Collections Cross ₹90 Crore

On its second Friday (Day 8), Bhooth Bangla recorded a net collection of ₹5.75 crore across 8,573 shows in India. This steady performance has pushed the film’s total domestic net to ₹90.15 crore, while the India gross stands at a solid ₹107.20 crore. After a massive opening weekend that saw collections peaking at ₹23 crore on Sunday, the film has settled into a consistent groove during the weekdays, benefiting from the lack of major competition in the horror-comedy genre this month.

Global Footprint: Overseas Markets Contribute ₹37.50 Crore

The film’s international appeal has been a significant factor in its rapid climb toward the ₹150 crore mark. On Day 8, overseas markets contributed ₹2.50 crore, taking the total international gross to ₹37.50 crore. When combined with the domestic performance, the worldwide gross for Bhooth Bangla now stands at ₹144.70 crore. Trade analysts suggest that the film’s ensemble cast—featuring heavyweights like Paresh Rawal, Tabu, and Rajpal Yadav—has played a crucial role in attracting the diaspora audience, particularly in the UAE and North America.

Priyadarshan’s Return: A Nostalgic Powerhouse

The anticipation surrounding Bhooth Bangla was fueled by the fact that it reunited Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan after 14 long years. Produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and Cape of Good Films, the project features a “dream team” of comic actors including Wamiqa Gabbi, Jisshu Sengupta, and Mithila Palkar.

While some viewers found the narrative “uneven,” the chemistry between Akshay and the veteran supporting cast has garnered widespread praise. As the film enters its second weekend, industry experts expect a significant jump in collections, potentially pushing the film past the ₹175 crore mark by Sunday night.
