Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s Alpha witnessed a positive jump at the box office on its second day despite receiving mixed to negative reactions on social media. After a modest opening, the YRF Spy Universe film registered a 21.6% growth on Saturday, signalling improved footfalls over the weekend.

According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Alpha collected ₹11.25 crore net in India on Day 2, an increase from its ₹9.25 crore opening-day collection. The film has now earned ₹20.50 crore net and ₹24.60 crore gross at the domestic box office within just two days of its theatrical release.

The film also maintained a steady performance overseas. It collected ₹7 crore gross internationally on Day 2, taking its overseas total to ₹13 crore gross. With this, Alpha has amassed an estimated ₹37.60 crore worldwide gross in its first two days.

Despite the encouraging growth, Alpha still faces a challenging road ahead. The film reportedly carries a production budget of around ₹100–130 crore, meaning it will require sustained collections over the coming weeks to recover its investment. Trade experts believe Sunday’s performance will be crucial in determining whether the film can post a healthy opening weekend.

The action thriller has generated considerable discussion online, with audiences divided over its storytelling and execution. While some viewers praised the action sequences and performances, others criticised the film on social media. However, the Day 2 jump suggests that audience curiosity and weekend footfalls continue to work in its favour.

Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha is the seventh film in the YRF Spy Universe and stars Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in key roles. The film’s performance over the next few days will determine whether it can maintain its momentum and emerge as a commercial success.
