Stand-up comedian and Bigg Boss 19 contestant Pranit More continues to face criticism over remarks made during one of his comedy shows. As the controversy remains a hot topic on social media, fellow Bigg Boss 19 contestant Tanya Mittal has now shared her views, asking people to stop the excessive trolling while making it clear that she does not support the comments made during the show.

Tanya said Pranit should be held responsible for his actions. However, she also believes that there should be a limit to online hate, especially after a person has accepted their mistake and apologised.

What sparked the controversy?

The controversy began after a clip from Pranit More’s stand-up show went viral online.

During the performance, 23-year-old audience member Himanshu Jangra said he had spent Rs 370 on a plate of chicken biryani during a date and therefore expected a “return” on that expense.

The remark received widespread criticism on social media. Many users criticized both Himanshu for his statement and Pranit More for laughing instead of challenging the comment during the show.

The incident soon led to intense public backlash, with FIRs reportedly being filed against the comedian.

Tanya Mittal asks people to show empathy

Speaking to Fever FM on YouTube, Tanya Mittal said she felt sorry for Pranit despite disagreeing with how the situation was handled.

She acknowledged that he made a mistake and deserved criticism. However, she questioned whether the continuous online hate had gone too far.

“I do feel bad for Pranit as well. A mistake was made, FIRs were filed against him, and he faced massive public backlash. But we should not forget that everyone has a family,” she said.

According to Tanya, every person is capable of making mistakes, and social media users should know when to stop attacking someone.

‘Criticise, but don’t destroy someone’s life’

Tanya further explained that criticism is necessary when someone makes a mistake. However, she believes it should not continue endlessly.

She urged people to think about the impact such trolling has on an individual’s family and personal life.

“At some point, we should stop. Question someone, criticise them, but then move on. We should make sure that the person’s family can still live with dignity in society. He is also a human being, and humans make mistakes,” she said.

She also reminded people that anyone could find themselves in a similar situation one day.

According to Tanya, if she were to make a mistake in the future, she too would hope for understanding after accepting responsibility.

Pranit More had already apologised

Before deactivating his social media account, Pranit More issued a public apology for the incident.

He admitted that he should have responded differently during the live crowd work instead of laughing and moving forward with the show.

Pranit clarified that the audience member’s comments did not represent his own views.

“I understand the criticism regarding the crowd work clip. Looking back, I should have challenged the remark instead of laughing and moving on. That was a lapse in judgment,” he wrote.

He also revealed that the video had been removed from all social media platforms because he did not want to normalize or amplify such views.

Comedian promises to learn from the incident

In his apology, Pranit thanked those who raised concerns respectfully and promised to handle similar situations more carefully in the future.

He admitted that the incident had become an important learning experience.

“I’m human, and like everyone else, I’m constantly learning. Being called out when I get something wrong helps me grow. I’ll be more mindful and ensure I never unintentionally support or normalise such views again,” he added.
