Beyond the grand musical unveilings, the makers pulled back the curtain on their core promotional strategy, officially revealing via an on-screen end slate that the theatrical trailer for the film will drop worldwide on Friday, May 29, 2026.

Directed by Homi Adajania—the visionary director behind the original 2012 cult classic Cocktail 2 is structurally positioned as a spiritual sequel rather than a direct continuation. The original film famously redefined the careers of Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty through its raw, urban depiction of adult friendships, heartbreak, and complex modern love.
Aware of the towering legacy left behind by the original trio, Kriti Sanon addressed the inevitable internet comparisons head-on during a recent appearance at the Femina Beauty Awards.
“I’m sure a comparison is going to happen, but the good part is that this is not a sequential story; it’s a franchise,” Sanon clarified. “So it’s more of a vibe franchise, and our characters are completely separate. The world is fresh, the dynamics are different, but it carries that same intoxicating, emotional energy.”
