In what she describes as her “ultimate flex,” Bollywood actor Huma Qureshi has revealed that global pop sensation Ed Sheeran is a fan of the cult classic Gangs of Wasseypur. During a podcast with Prakhar Gupta, Huma recalled the surprising interaction that took place at a star-studded party hosted by filmmaker Farah Khan during the singer’s visit to Mumbai.

The “Cool” Interaction

Huma shared that while she was engaging in a polite conversation with the “Shape of You” singer, she recommended the film as a way to learn “colourful language.” To her shock, Sheeran immediately recognized the title.

“He stopped and asked, ‘You were in that movie?’ I said, ‘Yes’. He said, ‘We just saw that movie’ and then he called his manager… Ed said, ‘We just watched the film and we really loved it. It’s such a cool film.’”

The moment was so unexpected that even host Farah Khan was curious about what Huma had said to make the singer stop his manager to discuss the movie.

A Legacy of Excellence

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, Gangs of Wasseypur is widely regarded as a masterpiece of modern Indian cinema. Featuring an ensemble cast including Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Pankaj Tripathi, the gritty coal-mafia saga has garnered international acclaim over the years.
