Actor Esha Deol has spoken candidly about her life after separating from Bharat Takhtani, saying she still believes in love and hopes to experience it again.
The couple announced their separation on February 7, 2024, after more than a decade of marriage. Although they have parted ways, they continue to co-parent their two daughters, Radhya and Miraya.
Esha Deol Says She Misses Love and Romance
During a conversation on the Curly Tales podcast, Esha shared that love and romance continue to hold a special place in her life.
She admitted that she currently misses having those emotions in her daily life.
“I think love and romance are the most important things in a person’s life, which I am currently missing. I love to be romantic. I am a complete rom-com person. I love love songs and I love love stories.”
‘Breakups Don’t Change My Belief in Love’
Esha said that past relationships and breakups have never changed her outlook on love.
She explained that she has experienced breakups before, but those moments never weakened her belief in finding genuine love.
“Breakups happen. I have had boyfriends in the past whom I broke up with. These things happen, but that doesn’t dilute my ultimate idea of love.”
The actress also said she grew up watching the strong and unconditional relationship shared by her parents, Hema Malini and Dharmendra, which continues to shape her understanding of love.
Separation Was Handled With Dignity
Esha acknowledged that ending a marriage is never easy, especially when both partners are public figures.
However, she said she and Bharat understood the attention their decision would receive and chose to deal with the situation respectfully.
The couple married in 2012 and announced their separation in 2024 through a joint statement.
At the time, they said the decision was made mutually and amicably, while stressing that the well-being of their children would remain their highest priority.
Focus Remains on Co-Parenting
In an earlier interview with the YouTube channel Mamaraazzi, Esha spoke about maintaining a healthy co-parenting relationship with Bharat.
She said that although their relationship has changed, both of them have chosen to work together as mature parents.
According to Esha, keeping the family united for the sake of their daughters remains their shared responsibility, even if their roles in each other’s lives have changed.
Bharat Takhtani Has Moved On
Meanwhile, Bharat Takhtani has confirmed his relationship with entrepreneur Meghna Lakhani.
He made the relationship public through an Instagram post featuring a picture of the couple together.
Sharing the photo, Bharat wrote, “Welcome to my family,” along with the hashtag “It’s official.”
Meghna also shared a picture with Bharat from Madrid, Spain, where the couple posed near the Origen de las Carreteras Radiales landmark. She captioned the post, “The journey starts here.”
