Actor Gaurav Khanna has finally addressed the ongoing speculation surrounding his relationship with Akanksha Chamola after making an emotional appearance during Lock Upp 2’s Family Week. Responding to the backlash over their reported separation, Gaurav dismissed claims that their relationship was “fake” and clarified that despite living separately, they are still legally husband and wife.
In the latest episode of the Netflix reality show, Gaurav reunited with Akanksha inside the Lock Upp house. The emotional meeting came days after Akanksha revealed on the show that the couple had decided to part ways. As the two sat down for a private conversation, Gaurav admitted that news about their relationship had become one of the biggest talking points outside the house.
Speaking about the divorce buzz, Gaurav revealed that they had first discussed separating in May before he left to shoot Khatron Ke Khiladi 15. “People outside think we’ve been divorced for one or one-and-a-half years,” he said. Addressing the online criticism, Gaurav said many social media users accused him of pretending to have a happy marriage for publicity. Referring to comments about their relationship, he said, “Wo keh rahe hain ye fake hai, acting kar raha hai. Maine kisi cheez ka jawab nahi diya.” He further made it clear that their legal marital status remains unchanged, saying, “Legally, you are still my wife and I am still your husband.”
