Actor Jackie Shroff was among the many celebrities who visited the residence of legendary singer Asha Bhosle on Monday to pay their final respects. However, the sombre occasion saw a moment of tension when the actor lost his cool at the paparazzi gathered outside, schooling them for asking insensitive questions during a time of grief.
The Confrontation
As Shroff was leaving the residence, photographers asked for his “reaction” to the singer’s passing. Visibly miffed by the repetitive and ill-timed nature of the question, the actor responded in a mix of Marathi and Hindi:
“How would it feel if someone’s mother passes away? Our mother is gone… What do you mean by asking how it feels? How does it feel when someone loses their mother?”
When a photographer tentatively replied that it feels “bad,” Shroff ended the conversation abruptly, saying, “That’s it, the matter ends there. This is not the time to say such things… go home (Ghar jaa).”
