Actress Akanksha Chamola has made another candid revelation about her personal life on Lock Upp, sharing that she currently identifies as “asexual” as she navigates her ongoing divorce from actor Gaurav Khanna. Her statement comes days after she revealed that she has no plans to marry again following the end of their relationship.
During a conversation with fellow contestant Varun Yadav, popularly known as Laila, Akanksha was asked whether she would ever consider remarrying or continue living on her own. Responding honestly, she admitted that the experience of her marriage had left her with a fear of entering another relationship, saying, “Mereko dar baith gaya hai.”
The discussion then shifted to whether a person’s sexuality can change over time. Sharing her perspective, Akanksha said that sexuality can evolve depending on different phases of life. Referring to her current situation, she explained that as her divorce proceedings continue, she has no desire to be physically involved with anyone, regardless of gender.
Elaborating further, Akanksha said, “Ab mera divorce ho raha hai, abhi mereko kisi se sex nahi chahiye. Mujhe ladkiyon ke sath bhi nahi chahiye, admiyon ke sath bhi nahi chahiye.” She described this as the phase she is presently going through and added that she considers herself “asexual” at this point in her life. Concluding the conversation, she stated, “Main completely asexual ban chuki hoon.”
Earlier on Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, Akanksha had publicly announced that she and Gaurav Khanna had mutually decided to end their marriage after living separately for nearly a year. She clarified that there was no bitterness between them and said they had simply realised they wanted different things from life, making them incompatible as partners.
Following her announcement, Gaurav Khanna expressed continued respect and affection for Akanksha. During his appearance on the reality show, he referred to her as “meri biwi” and reminded her that they were still legally married until the divorce process was complete. He also stated that he would not tolerate anyone speaking negatively about her, with both actors maintaining that they hoped to part ways with dignity, friendship, and mutual respect.
