Former Lock Upp 2 contestant Madhuri Jain Grover has opened up about her experience on the reality show and her interactions with host Farah Khan. After her eviction, Madhuri revealed that some of Farah’s comments left her hurt, but she later understood that the filmmaker was trying to push her to bring out her personality on the show.

During her time on Lock Upp 2, Farah Khan repeatedly encouraged Madhuri to be more expressive and participate actively. In one episode, Farah referred to Madhuri as Shreya Kalra’s manager, which triggered an emotional reaction from her. Madhuri responded by explaining that being a manager was not something to be ashamed of and highlighted her professional achievements while managing her husband Ashneer Grover’s career affairs.

Speaking in an interview after her eviction, Madhuri admitted that Farah’s remarks affected her emotionally. She said she wondered why Farah continued making such comments and acknowledged that she was hurt by them. However, she also accepted that a host’s role is to challenge contestants and help them showcase their strongest side.

Madhuri explained that Farah’s approach was to provoke a reaction from her, and it eventually worked. She said being called a “manager” became the trigger that brought out her emotions and led her to express herself more openly. According to Madhuri, Farah was trying to find a side of her that she had not shown during the initial days of the competition.

Apart from discussing her equation with Farah Khan, Madhuri also shared her views on the living conditions and food inside the Lock Upp 2 house. Contrary to some complaints made by other contestants, she described the facilities as comfortable and said the environment was better than what many people might expect from a reality show based on survival challenges.

Madhuri said she had no major issues with the food provided on the show and enjoyed simple meals such as dal and palak paneer. She revealed that the only difficulty she faced was with porridge, which she was not accustomed to eating and which made her feel unwell on the first day.

She added that contestants should enter such shows with realistic expectations and understand that limited food choices are part of the experience. According to Madhuri, Lock Upp teaches participants how to adapt, manage challenges, and survive with simplicity.
