Salman Khan’s much-awaited film Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace will not be postponed to 2027, Salman Khan Films has officially confirmed. The clarification came after reports recently suggested that the highly anticipated project could face another delay and move to a 2027 release.
The film was originally scheduled to arrive in theatres in April 2026 but was postponed, leaving fans waiting for an official release date announcement. Addressing the growing speculation, Salman Khan Films took to social media on Monday and shared a new poster confirming that Maatrubhumi will release in 2026.
The production house shared a poster featuring the year 2026 along with the caption, “A soldier’s promise. A family’s strength. A nation’s pride.” However, the makers have not yet revealed the exact release date of the Salman Khan starrer.
Following the announcement, fans flooded social media with requests for more details about the theatrical release date. Several users asked Salman Khan Films to reveal the confirmed date, while some fans suggested their preferred release windows for the movie.
The clarification has brought relief to Salman Khan fans, who have been eagerly waiting for updates about the film. Earlier, rumours claimed that the movie might be pushed to 2027, creating uncertainty among audiences.
CBFC Rumours Clarified
Earlier, reports also suggested that Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace was facing issues with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). However, Salman Khan Films dismissed these claims and stated that the film had not even been submitted for certification.
In an official statement, SKF said that reports about CBFC-related problems or certification delays were false and requested media outlets and individuals to avoid spreading unverified information. The production house confirmed that all official announcements regarding the film will come only through Salman Khan Films’ official channels.
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace was earlier titled Battle of Galwan and features Salman Khan in the lead role. The film is among the biggest upcoming projects in the actor’s lineup and has generated significant anticipation among his fans.
