July 20, 2026: Union Minister and BJP president JP Nadda on Monday appealed to the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) to end its ongoing protest after holding discussions with the group’s representatives over their demands related to the alleged NEET-UG paper leak. Nadda said the talks were held in a cordial atmosphere, adding that the delegation submitted a written memorandum outlining its concerns. He urged protesters to cooperate with the administration in restoring normalcy following the meeting.
Speaking after the discussions, Nadda said the CJP had proposed formal talks with the government earlier in the day and confirmed that an initial verbal discussion was followed by the submission of a written petition. He stated that the government had taken note of the issues raised and appealed to the protesters to withdraw their sit-in in the interest of maintaining public order.
CJP spokesperson Saurav Das said he and party representative Ashutosh Ranka met Nadda to demand the resignation or dismissal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged examination irregularities. According to Das, Nadda assured the delegation that their demands would be conveyed at the appropriate level but made no commitment on any specific issue. The CJP also claimed it received assurances that there would be no further police action at Jantar Mantar or nearby protest sites. However, the party maintained that its peaceful agitation would continue until its key demands were fulfilled.
