Actor Mrunal Thakur has joined the growing list of film personalities reacting to the ongoing student protests linked to the alleged NEET paper leak. Taking to Instagram Stories, the actress shared a video from the demonstrations and recalled her interactions with students from her home state of Maharashtra.
The video shared by Mrunal featured a protester from Nashik who said he had travelled to Delhi to participate in the demonstrations after his brother allegedly died by suicide following the reported NEET paper leak.
Responding to the video, Mrunal revealed that she had personally met students from Dhule and Nashik, who expressed concerns about their future after the alleged examination irregularities.
Sharing her thoughts, the actress wrote in Marathi, “I personally met students from Dhule and Nashik. They asked me, ‘What should we do after the paper leak?’ What should I tell them?”
Celebrities Continue to React
Several members of the film industry have shared their views on the ongoing protests. Actors including Sonakshi Sinha, Huma Qureshi, Preity Zinta, Bhumi Pednekar, Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh have posted messages on social media, while veterans Shabana Azmi and Prakash Raj attended the protest at Jantar Mantar.
Meanwhile, National Award-winning lyricist Manoj Muntashir criticised the protest during an interview, saying he would not participate and arguing that India’s youth deserve better. He also strongly criticised the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), accusing the organisation of promoting anti-national narratives.
Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah also expressed solidarity with the protesting students in a video shared on CJP’s official X account. He encouraged students not to lose hope, saying they had the support of many people and that his faith in India’s youth had grown even stronger.
The ongoing demonstrations have drawn varied reactions from public figures, with some expressing support for the students’ concerns while others have questioned the nature and direction of the protests.
