January 19, 2025: Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, and Nita Ambani, founder and chairperson of Reliance Foundation, extended their congratulations to US President-elect Donald Trump at a private reception in Washington DC ahead of his inauguration. The Ambanis expressed their hope for stronger India-US relations during Trump’s second term and emphasized the potential for collaboration between the two nations.
The Ambanis are set to attend the inauguration ceremony on January 20, where they will have prominent seating alongside other notable guests, including Trump’s Cabinet nominees and elected officials. Their visit to Washington DC began on January 18, and they were present at a reception and fireworks display at Trump National Golf Club in Virginia on Saturday. On Sunday, the couple attended a “candlelight dinner” with President-elect Trump, and they are also expected to join a black-tie reception hosted by Mark Zuckerberg and Miriam Adelson to celebrate the inauguration.
The inauguration day is expected to be attended by several high-profile figures, including tech moguls like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Xavier Niel, along with other influential figures. During the event, Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, having previously served as the 45th president from 2017 to 2021. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will represent the Indian government at the ceremony.
