Ram Charan’s latest sports drama Peddi witnessed a drop in collections on its second day at the box office. However, the film continued its impressive run and moved closer to the ₹100 crore India net milestone within just two days of release.

After a massive opening day, the film experienced a decline in earnings on Friday. Despite the fall, Peddi remains one of the strongest-performing Telugu releases of the year.
Peddi Earns ₹26.90 Crore Net on Day 2
According to early box office estimates from Sacnilk, Peddi collected ₹26.90 crore net in India on its second day.

The figure represents a 47.3% drop from its opening-day net collection of ₹51 crore. While the decline may appear significant, such drops are common after huge opening days, especially for star-driven releases.
The film recorded these collections across more than 10,000 shows nationwide.
India Net Collection Nears ₹100 Crore
With two days of theatrical run completed, Peddi has accumulated an impressive ₹96.40 crore net collection in India.
Its India gross collection has already reached ₹114.49 crore, highlighting the film’s strong performance across major markets.
The movie is now expected to comfortably cross the ₹100 crore India net mark during its first weekend.
Worldwide Collection Crosses ₹150 Crore
The overseas market continues to contribute significantly to the film’s success.

On Day 2, Peddi earned approximately ₹8 crore from international territories. As a result, the film’s overseas gross collection has climbed to ₹36 crore.
Combining domestic and overseas earnings, the worldwide gross collection now stands at ₹150.49 crore.
The strong global performance has strengthened the film’s position as Ram Charan’s biggest solo success in recent years.
Telugu States Remain the Biggest Revenue Source
The Telugu-speaking states continue to drive the majority of the film’s box office collections.
On Day 2 alone, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana generated around ₹25 crore gross, making them the strongest markets for the film.
Other state-wise collections include:
- Karnataka: ₹3.23 crore gross
- Tamil Nadu: ₹70 lakh gross
- Kerala: ₹7 lakh gross
- Rest of India: ₹3 crore gross
The numbers show that while the film has some presence outside Telugu states, its core strength remains its home market.
Occupancy Remains Strong Throughout the Day
The Telugu version of Peddi recorded an overall occupancy of 48.81% on Friday.

Occupancy increased steadily as the day progressed:
- Morning shows: 29.85%
- Afternoon shows: 48.15%
- Evening shows: 57.08%
- Night shows: 60.15%
The rising evening and night occupancy suggests that audience interest remained healthy despite the second-day decline in collections.
Meanwhile, the Tamil and Kannada versions posted lower occupancy figures, indicating that the film’s appeal remains strongest among Telugu audiences.
Story Set in Rural Andhra Pradesh
Set in rural Andhra Pradesh during the 1980s, Peddi follows the journey of a determined villager who uses sports to unite his community and defend its pride against powerful opponents.
The film combines sports drama, village politics, and emotional storytelling, creating a mass entertainer designed for a wide audience.
Critics Praise Visuals and Ram Charan’s Performance
One of the most appreciated aspects of the film has been its visual presentation.
Critics have praised cinematographer R. Rathnavelu for capturing the rustic setting and emotional depth of the story. Several scenes have been highlighted for their scale and cinematic quality.
The supporting cast includes Divyenndu, Shiv Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Boman Irani, and Janhvi Kapoor.
While some reviews noted that a few supporting characters could have received more screen time, Shiv Rajkumar’s portrayal of Gour Naidu has earned particular praise. His role as Peddi’s mentor adds emotional weight to the narrative.
Weekend Collections Will Be Crucial
The film’s second-day drop was expected after its blockbuster opening. However, the real test will come over the weekend.
If strong word-of-mouth continues and occupancy remains high in Telugu states, Peddi could comfortably cross ₹200 crore worldwide during its opening weekend.
For Ram Charan, the film appears to be delivering the commercial success many fans were waiting for after RRR.
