Ram Charan’s latest film, Peddi, has made a powerful start at the box office. The sports action drama crossed the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide on its opening day, making it one of the biggest Telugu film openings in recent years.
Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film earned an impressive Rs 112.49 crore worldwide on Day 1. As a result, it became the 11th Telugu film to achieve an opening-day collection of more than Rs 100 crore globally.
A Crucial Box Office Win for Ram Charan
The success of Peddi carries special importance for Ram Charan. Since the historic success of RRR, the actor had been searching for another major theatrical blockbuster.
Although RRR brought him international fame, his previous release, Game Changer, did not perform as expected at the box office. Therefore, Peddi’s strong opening has brought relief to both fans and industry observers.

According to early trade estimates, Peddi earned around Rs 82.49 crore from the Indian market, including revenue from paid preview shows held before the official release.

Since Baahubali 2: The Conclusion became the first Telugu film to cross Rs 100 crore worldwide on its opening day, only a select group of films have managed to achieve the same feat.
For Ram Charan, Peddi marks his second entry into this exclusive club. His first came with RRR, which opened to a massive Rs 223 crore worldwide gross.
RRR, directed by S. S. Rajamouli, also featured Jr NTR in a leading role.
Telugu Markets Drive Strong Opening
The Telugu version has contributed the majority of ticket sales so far. The film witnessed packed theatres across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where fans celebrated its release with enthusiasm.
